We talk a lot about gathering here at Table Set. This June 19th, many of you will be gathering to celebrate Father's Day. And while the occasion often sparks visions of barbecues or picnics and fishing trips, there are as many ways to celebrate as there are dads out there to celebrate. The important denominator is quality time together. And if your family is still into it... matching jackets. Peep the throwback photo with our own dad and matching fleece.
Here are a few of our favorite ideas for unique dad-approved gatherings.
- Host an indoor picnic (let us suggest The James Collection from Table Set, named after our own dad, Michael James) - no bugs and lots of fun.
- Take a virtual cooking class - we love this dynamic experience that can be as easy as a MasterClass video or dynamic as and Airbnb Experience. Either way, be sure to enjoy the fruits of your labor!
- Have a dad dessert party or taste test - once of our favorite memories with dad was when he was in charge of dinner. That often meant pie filling with coconut as the "salad." Who says you can't have dessert before dinner is over!
- Learn about your family tree - there may be new things about your culture and heritage you never knew.
Max Lucado said, “My father didn’t do anything unusual. He only did what dads are supposed to do: be there.” Now it's our turn to simply, "be there," for dad this Father's Day. Tell us, what is your favorite thing to do with your dad, granddad or important father figure in your life?
